Cucumber History

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is a herbaceous gourd in various species. Its fruit is coarse and green or white. Its bush is like a melon bush.

The word cucumber has a Persian root and Persian language and comes from Persian in Arabic.

History

The origin of cucumber is from Southern Asia (India). In India, they have been planted for at least three thousand years, and have been used by the Romans and the Greeks.

In these areas, the original forms of wild cucumber that are found in small and bitter fruits are still found.

Planting cucumbers in the world is a few thousand years old. For about twenty centuries BC, the ancient Egyptians used it.

The most important cucumber countries are China and the United States.

The state of Florida is the most important producer of cucumbers in the United States, and it produces about one whole cucumber in the United States.
